USC Health, part of the University of Southern California, named Dr. Joshua Lee chief information officer.
Lee will lead information technology initiatives for the Keck Medical Center of USC and the Keck School of Medicine, both in Los Angeles, according to a
memo from a USC Health official.
Lee will assume his new role July 1. He will be charged with developing a comprehensive IT plan and providing "critical leadership" in the implementation of an electronic health-record program, USC Health Senior Vice President and CEO
Tom Jackiewicz said in the memo. He also will guide USC Health's participation in the federal incentive program for the
meaningful use of EHRs.
Lee joins USC Health from UC San Diego Health Sciences, where he has served as chief medical information officer since 2010, according to the release. He also is an associate professor of clinical medicine and is an attending physician and hospitalist in the hospital medicine division. His age was unavailable at deadline.
