Regarding "One-year delay on ICD-10 to October 2014 finalized": I recognize the CMS for weighing the pros and cons and realizing that benefits of ICD-10 exceed the negative impacts from further delays.
Not everyone will be happy with this decision, but it's the best decision for the healthcare industry as a whole. I think people will be happy that some type of decision has been made, replacing any reasonable doubt about the October 2014 date sticking.
Now is the time for the healthcare industry to move past the date-change decision and collaborate on making the transition to ICD-10 as smooth as possible and begin thinking about all the ways we can leverage ICD-10 to improve patient care.
