Minneapolis-based Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and HealthPartners, Bloomington, Minn., have broken ground on a clinic in Hugo, Minn.

The facility, which is expected to open in mid-2013, will include a HealthPartners clinic and will offer night and weekend urgent care. It also will house the Northeast Pediatric Clinic, which moves from Vadnais Heights, Minn., and is an affiliate of Children's of Minnesota. Northeast Pediatric and HealthPartners will collaborate while sharing the space and clinical support services.

"In this new shared space, patients and families will experience the same high level of care and compassion they have come to expect from Children's, HealthPartners and Northeast Pediatrics," Children's of Minnesota COO David Overman said in a news release. "This combined location helps our organizations be more cost-effective, provides added convenience for families and ultimately helps all of us deliver the best possible care."

HealthPartners is a three-hospital system, with two hospitals in Minnesota and one in Wisconsin. Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is a two-hospital system, with a facility each in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
