KentuckyOne Health's departing chief clinical officer, Dr. Daniel Varga, has been named CCO and senior executive VP of 14-hospital Texas Health Resources, effective Jan. 14.
The announcement comes just a month after 318-bed University of Louisville Hospital announced it had entered into a
joint operating agreement with KentuckyOne, a health system formed in January through the merger of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare, Louisville, and Saint Joseph Health System, Lexington.
In his new role at Texas Health Resources, Varga, 54, will be charged with overseeing clinical integration, patient-safety initiatives and physician relationships, the system said in a
news release.
Before KentuckyOne Health's formation, Varga was CMO of St. Joseph Health System. He also has held leadership roles at SSM Health Care, St. Louis, and at Norton Healthcare, Louisville.
