Excela Health, Greensburg, Pa., named Dr. Carol Fox CMO.

Fox has been a primary-care physician with Excela since 1990, according to a news release (PDF), and has twice served as a medical executive for the three-hospital system on an interim basis.

Excela described her as "instrumental" in the creation of hospital and systemwide physician advisory councils and said she "understands the necessity of strong collaboration between administrators and care providers for the purpose of decision-making and evaluation of business, financial and purchasing decisions."
