Tedeschi named CEO of Vanguard's Weiss Memorial

Dr. Anthony Tedeschi, chief medical officer for the Vanguard Health Systems' four Chicago-area hospitals, has been named CEO at one of those facilities: 184-bed Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Tedeschi, 51, will retain his CMO post for the Chicago-area hospitals as he replaces Dr. Jeff Steinberg, who had held the CEO post for more than a year and stepped down in December in order to focus on his clinical career, an e-mailed news release said.

Tedeschi was a founding partner of the Sibery Group, an Oak Brook, Ill.-based healthcare consultant. He also worked as the interim president of Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill., which is now part of the Cadence Health system, also based in Winfield.

In addition to its four Chicago-area hospitals, Nashville-based Vanguard Health has 14 other hospitals in Arizona, Massachusetts, Michigan and Texas.
