Dr. Nancy Dunlap, a professor of medicine and business at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, has been named as the first physician-in-residence at the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices' Health Division in Washington.
Her work will focus on identifying ways to improve the health of high users of healthcare services at reduced costs as well improving birth outcomes,
according to an NGA news release.
Dunlap, 58, was a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow on the Committee on Energy and Commerce at the U.S. House of Representatives. She is also special adviser to the
Alabama Medicaid Advisory Commission.
