LifePoint Hospitals, Brentwood, Tenn., has named
Dr. Russell Holman chief medical officer, effective today.
Holman, 45, replaces
Dr. Lanny Copeland, who was the first to hold the CMO position when it was created in 2007. Copeland, one of
Modern Healthcare's Most Influential Physician Executives, announced last summer that he planned to retire.
Holman joins the publicly traded company from Cogent HMG, a Brentwood-based hospitalist management company, where he was most recently chief clinical officer. Before that, he was medical director of hospital services for HealthPartners Medical Group and Clinics, Bloomington, Minn.
