TeamHealth Medical Call Center in Knoxville, Tenn., has named Dr. Lise Christensen pediatric medical director, a new role for the company.

Christensen, whose age was not disclosed, is responsible for providing clinical oversight for pediatric services provided across the organization. Christensen will also continue serving as assistant director of the emergency department at East Tennessee Children's Hospital, Knoxville. She was previously chief of staff at the children's hospital.

“With nearly 25 years of pediatric emergency medicine experience, Dr. Christensen offers the expertise necessary for [TeamHealth Medical Call Center] to continue offering the highest quality of medical call-center pediatric services,” Dr. Roger Brooksbank, president of TeamHealth's Smoky Mountain division and medical director for TeamHealth Medical Call Center, said in a release.

TeamHealth Medical Call Center offers 24-hour nurse triage and nurse advice lines. It is part of TeamHealth, a provider of outsourced physician staffing solutions to hospitals throughout the U.S.
