Welcome to
Modern Physician’s Physician Entrepreneur of the Year awards program. This program is designed to recognize physicians who have made their mark on the business side of healthcare by introducing successful new products or services to the industry or by successfully leading or managing businesses serving the industry.
Some examples include:
— Physicians who own their own hospitals or ambulatory surgery centers.
— Physicians who own their own managed-care plans.
— Physicians who run healthcare services companies.
— Physicians who market or sell their own electronic medical records.
— Physicians who market or sell their own medical products or devices.

The July 17 submission deadline for the 2009 program has passed, and nominations are now closed. Modern Physician will announce and profile the Physician Entrepreneur of the Year for 2009 in the Sept. 14 issue. The announcement and profile will also appear in the Sept. 14 issue of Modern Healthcare. In addition, this year’s recipient will be honored at the annual meeting of the Physician Hospitals of America Sept. 24-26 in New Orleans.
Per editorial policy, all submitted material becomes the property of Modern Physician. Modern Physician’s editorial review board is solely responsible for making the final determination of the award recipient. Award sponsors are not involved in the design or administration of the award process or the judging or determination of award recipients. Award sponsors may use submitted nomination materials for marketing purposes.
